Privacy Policy for Lift

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Summary

Lift is a workout tracking app. Your workout content — every exercise, set, weight, rep, and note — stays private: it is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, synced only through your own iCloud account, which we cannot access. The only information we collect is limited, anonymous usage analytics that help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This never includes your workout content.

Data Storage

All workout data (exercises, sets, weights, reps, session history) is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, Lift uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your workout data across your own devices and back it up to your private iCloud account. This data lives in your personal iCloud — not on any server operated by us — and we have no access to it and cannot read it. Syncing happens directly between your devices and Apple. If you are not signed in to iCloud, Lift works fully offline and your data stays only on your device. You can turn iCloud off for Lift at any time in your device's Settings.

Analytics

Lift uses Amplitude, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data so we can understand how the app is used and make it better. This is limited to coarse product-interaction events — for example, when a workout is started, a set is logged, or a workout ends, along with the workout category and exercise name — plus standard app session and device information. Amplitude assigns a random per-install identifier; it is not linked to your name, email, or any account (Lift has no accounts to create or sign in to).

We never send your weights, reps, notes, or any other workout content to Amplitude or to anyone else. Your actual training data only ever lives on your device and in your own iCloud, as described above.

What We Don't Do

Data Deletion

Deleting the Lift app removes the data stored on that device. If you use iCloud, you can also remove Lift's data from your iCloud settings. You can export your full history from within the app at any time before deleting. The anonymous usage analytics are not tied to an identity, so they cannot be traced back to you; if you would like analytics for your install removed, contact us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

Lift is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
